BIBA
The Babson Investment Banking Association’s mission is to enhance the position of Babson as a top business school for investment banking by increasing the interest of students in this field, supporting students in their preparation for the recruiting process, and improving relations with firms through the Babson Alumni Network, which has over 300 professionals in the industry. The association will utilize valuable resources such as alumni in the investment banking field and experienced MBA candidates, seniors and juniors. The association also serves as a marketing vehicle for the Babson community, creating awareness of the different facets of investment banking through the Center of Career Development (CCD), the official BIBA website, online portal, education, communication, speakers and social networking events. Though BIBA primarily focuses on Corporate Finance and M&A advisory, all investment banking divisions are explored and discussed throughout the school year.

BIBA’s mission is not only to help students land internships/full-time jobs at investment banks, but also select members to the organization based on a demonstrated  legitimate interest in the business of investment banking. In addition, regional and boutique firms are given importance when advising students who are interested in pursuing a potential career in the industry. In the past Babson has attracted both large and small firms to campus, such as Citigroup, J.P. Morgan, Rothschild and Harris Williams. Complimenting these firms’ presentations is BIBA’s extensive connection with alumni, many of whom have either been speakers at sponsored events on campus or have been open to answering questions from members about careers in investment banking.

We at BIBA believe that the entrepreneurial focus of Babson’s management education in an important value helping positively distinguish Babson students from others. The ability to creatively think, while at the same time being able to apply practical financial skills, has helped explain why recruiters are progressively hiring more students from Babson. In 2007, students accepted full-time positions/internships with firms including Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, UBS, Credit Suisse, Rothschild, Robert Baird and Harris Williams.
